2. Use Sitemap: Use Google sitemap for your website and blogs. Although newbies wouldn't know this one, i recommend to read articles on it from here.
3. Use H1 tag for your page topic and blog topic too. With Google only the bold and strong text, get higher score. If your ready to score higher, then take up the challenge to be bold and strong in your content.

4. Recently, i noticed that Google crawler also likes keywords at the beginning of your site name. I also spoke to some notable bloggers about this, and they agreed with me 70%. For example, when your search 'How to become a fastblogger'. You will notice that wikihow.com shows up on the list even if its contents is not so great.
The reason is that, the keywords in that search is 'How to' and 'Fastblogger'.
Wikihow is a well known site with keyword 'how' on its name and is assumed to have the content that is searched by the user.
Try using keywords in your blog site.

5. Use good punctuation and grammatical expressions. Always prove-read your blog text before publishing.

6. Write long post often and be consistent in posting contents regularly. Google disdains any blogger that leaves its blog not updated. Write posts and schedule it for the future.
7. Update broken links regularly. Always check your site for broken links and clarify the issue if any.

8. Make use of comments in your blog pages for activeness. Google crawler thinks an active site is a blessed site with lots of great contents. Use comment to make your site more active.
